Chess Journal Support

For help or feedback, email [email protected]. Please include your device model, operating system version, Chess Journal version, and the steps that led to the problem. Share game records or account details only if needed to explain it; never send passwords or API keys.

Importing games

Enter a Chess.com username, then sync. Chess Journal uses publicly available, completed games. Private games and games against Chess.com bots may be unavailable through the public archive. Recent results can take time to appear.

Import and Sync → Import PGN lets you choose a file or paste a game. If the result is missing, select White wins, Black wins, or Draw and check again. Use Import and Sync → Manage and delete games to select individual games or all games and delete them with their analyses. Deletions also sync to your other devices when iCloud sync is enabled.

Analysis and offline use

Stockfish analysis runs on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Keep the app open during a large batch. Progress is saved when analysis pauses; reopen the app to continue. Imported games, downloaded puzzle packs, and included lessons can be used offline.

App language

Open the profile icon at the top right of Home, then Account → Language. Choose Follow System, 简体中文, or English. Changes apply immediately and are remembered without signing in; your games and review position are preserved. New AI reviews use the selected language, with separate English and Chinese caches.

AI reviews

Sign in with Apple from Account. AI reviews require an internet connection and send the selected game and analysis to our service and DeepSeek. Each account can make up to 10 single-game and 1 multi-game generation requests per day, counted separately and reset at midnight Beijing time; service capacity may also limit availability. If a request fails, follow the retry message rather than repeatedly submitting it.

Your saved progress

Version 1.0 stores the game library and learning progress on your device. Signing in does not upload a cloud backup. Deleting the app can remove local data.
